Did you really think that we'd spoil the poem with an introduction?
The Writing
The stars that shine and twinkle on the Milky Way
Don’t twinkle and shine where they used to stay.Â
Instead, the stars lie cold on the manipulated sky,
The sky is polluted by the world’s bright light and lies.
The bright city lights and the smoke-filled skies
Has taken a toll on the stunning stars and the human eye.
The stars no longer shine and twinkle like they used to,
All due to the modern world and its horrific hue.
However, the stars are not at fault for this crime.
The stunning stars still skip across the sky
As they did years ago,
Like a flock of doves as they fly
Across the sky, or like the
falling of snow.
The stars are not at fault, but rather, it is us.
The stars shine the same yet are hidden by dust.
Our light has polluted our vast skies,
Much like the ocean where garbage lies..
